Frequently asked questions

How does it work?

Fat cells do not die with diet and exercise; they only reduce in size. Cryolipolysis freezes fat cells at −5°C, which kills them. The body then flushes out the dead fat cells via the lymphatic system.

What happens during the treatment?

A gel membrane is applied to the area being treated and a handle connected to the machine is placed on top. The handle gently draws up the tissue and begins freezing the fat cells.

How long does the treatment take?

45 minutes, so feel free to bring a book or something to keep you entertained.

How many sessions will I need?

It can take up to 8 treatments. The number of sessions varies depending on your response and your goal body size. Each session is booked 4–6 weeks apart.

When will I see results and how long do they last?

Full results can take up to 12 weeks after each treatment, though some people see changes within six weeks. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle helps prevent new fat cells forming.

Does it hurt?

Fat freezing is generally painless. The skin will feel cold during treatment and might tingle. You may feel a slight pinch as the skin is drawn into the vacuum, but it should not hurt.

Who can’t have the treatment?
  • Pregnant
  • Liver or kidney problems
  • Heart or lung conditions (e.g. pacemaker or other implanted electrical equipment; reliance on artificial heart/lung machines; portable ECG equipment)
