Injectable fillers can plump and add volume to your lips. Lip fillers use synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance found naturally in the body.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have 0.5ml instead of 1.1ml?

You can have as much or as little as you like from 1.1ml. Filler comes in a pre-filled 1.1ml syringe which is used per client and disposed of after each treatment.

What are Russian lips?

Russian lips is a technique that creates a flatter, heart-shaped look with a defined cupid’s bow and more height in the top lip. It takes longer because filler is placed vertically in small passes to lift and smooth the lip for a uniform finish.

Does it hurt?

The first few injections may sting. Lidocaine in the filler starts working straight away so subsequent injections usually feel more comfortable. A dental block can be added for further numbing.

How long do results last?

The body breaks down filler over time. Results typically last 6 to 18 months depending on factors like metabolism and age.

What can I expect after treatment?

Lips will be swollen and may feel sore or bruise. Swelling can take up to two weeks to settle. Small lumps can occur while filler integrates and can usually be gently massaged out.

I don’t want duck lips

Duck lips happen over time from over-filling or migration of filler. This typically will not happen after one session. As a responsible practitioner I advise when less filler or longer spacing between treatments is best to prevent this.

Who can’t have lip fillers?
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Aged under 18
  • Known allergy to lip fillers or lidocaine
What’s the aftercare?
  • Avoid alcohol for up to 48 hours before and after treatment to reduce swelling and bruising
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 72 hours
  • No sunbeds or swimming for one week while injection sites heal
  • If lumps appear, gently massage them
  • Avoid high heat such as steam rooms or saunas for 48 hours as heat can worsen swelling
