Does the procedure hurt?
The area is numbed with topical anaesthetic before treatment to reduce discomfort. The filler also contains lidocaine which helps minimise pain.
How long do the results last?
The body gradually breaks down the filler. Results typically last 6–18 months depending on factors such as metabolism and age.
What can I expect after the treatment?
Swelling, tenderness and possible bruising are normal. Swelling can take up to two weeks to fully subside.
Who can’t have dermal fillers?
- Pregnant or breastfeeding

- Known allergy to fillers or lidocaine
What’s the aftercare?
- Avoid pressure on treated areas; try to sleep on your back for the first week.
- No makeup for 48 hours.
- Allow two weeks before facial treatments (microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, peels, laser, massage).
- Avoid alcohol for up to 48 hours before and after treatment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 72 hours.
- No sunbeds or swimming for one week.
- Avoid high heat (steam rooms or saunas) for 48 hours.
