Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim away dead skin cells and fine facial hair. The result is smoother, brighter and more radiant skin, and it also removes “peach fuzz.”
The treatment takes about 15 minutes. Wear SPF afterward to keep skin protected from sunlight.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between dermaplaning and microdermabrasion?
Both are exfoliation treatments. Dermaplaning uses a scalpel to gently remove dead skin and vellus hair. Microdermabrasion sands and suctions dead skin cells and can help clear clogged pores.
Will my hair grow back thicker and darker after dermaplaning?
No. Dermaplaning does not affect the hair follicle. The hair removed is vellus hair, which is naturally fine. It does not become terminal hair because of dermaplaning.
How often can I have this treatment?
Every four weeks so the skin has time to regenerate between treatments.
What’s the aftercare?
- No makeup for 24 hours
- Wear SPF 30 daily for at least two weeks
- Avoid sunbeds and swimming pools for 72 hours
- Wait 72 hours before any eyebrow tinting
