How many treatments will I need?
Consistent treatments help maintain collagen and elastin production for texture improvement. For scar reduction, plan for 3–6 sessions. For general collagen induction, a course of 3 is a good start. Sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
What happens during the treatment?
A topical numbing cream is applied, then the face is cleansed. A serum is applied and a microneedling pen glides over the skin to create controlled micro-injuries. The skin is then toned and moisturised.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream is used beforehand. You may feel light pricks in some areas; needle depth is adjusted to suit your concerns and comfort level.
What can I expect afterwards?
Temporary redness and pinpoint bleeding can occur. Skin may feel tight or dry and can flake for a few days following treatment.
What’s the aftercare?
- No makeup for at least 72 hours
- Do not rub or pick the treated area
- No exfoliation for at least 72 hours
- Avoid AHA/retinol/glycolic products for 7 days
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 72 hours
- No saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds or swimming for 7 days
- Limit excess alcohol or caffeine for 48 hours
- Wear SPF 30+ daily for at least 2 weeks
- Avoid Botox/filler for 2 weeks post-treatment (or follow practitioner advice)
- No hair removal, IPL/laser, HIFU, dermaplaning or facials for at least 2 weeks
- Avoid fake tan for at least 2 weeks
